How much is the data plan for the Verizon Iphone? Also, what is the difference between 200 MB and 2 GB? I know that the rates are different for each. Which one is a better deal? How much is the data plan for the Verizon Iphone?
Verizon does not offer more than one data plan for iPhone. The rate is $30 for unlimited which is the cheapest plan. AT%26amp;T has three different data plans
$15 for 200MB (best for people who use wifi a lot)
$25 for 2GB (I have this plan and I never go over)
$45 for 4GB+ wifi hotspot

What is a good cell phone that does not require a data plan?
I use AT%26amp;T and intend to switch my current SIM card to a new phone. However I need a phone that doesn't require a data plan.
I would love a phone that has a touch screen and threaded texting.
Any suggestions would be great! What is a good cell phone that does not require a data plan?

Well, if not having a data plan means the same thing as having a prepaid cell phone I'd recommend the Lg Rumor Touch. It's a nice touch screen cell phone with a full flip keyboard and tons of other stuff like Email and Google Earth. I don't know what threading text and a sim card is though, I know, pathetic... How can I extract data off a dead laptop?
My acer aspire laptop crashed a couple of weeks back but now I've lost loads of important pictures, documents so on.
What is the easiest way to extract the data? How can I extract data off a dead laptop?
As long as it wasn't hard disk failure and you didn't restore it to facrory default go to PC world or similar and buy a 2.5 inch sata/ide hard disk to usb enclosure, costs about 拢15-拢20. Make sure to get one that does sata and ide unless you know which one your hdd is. You basically just have to then remove the hard disk from the laptop, there will be a panel on the bottom to remove. Undo all the screws. The hdd will be in a small caddy, this will need to be unscrewed from the drive and removed. Put the drive in the enclosure and connect to another pc, you will then be able to browse the disk. Your data will likely be under c:\documents and settings\username in xp or c:\users\username in vista and win 7. Good luck! How can I extract data off a dead laptop?
You could contact a computer tech store to run a program to retrieve the data. This is never 100 percent effective unless your hard drive is in good shape, it likely is and they will remove the hard drive, connect it to another computer and retrieve you information. It will cost though. How can I extract data off a dead laptop?
use a live cd version of linux, such as ubuntu, burn the free .iso to a cd, then turn the pc on choose to try without installing, you will be able to access the data, to copy it to another hard disc or flash drive via usb

What kind of empirical data is there about sliding into first base?
I coach a little league team and have a player who has slid into first. He argued that he was trying to get there quickly. I said that besides increasing his chance of injury (the kid is only 10 afterall) the evidence about sliding into first is inconclusive. Now that I've said it I would love some data to back me up or prove me wrong. I did a little searching but was unsuccessful. Anyone know of some places that could help? What kind of empirical data is there about sliding into first base?
Running is faster because the runner is moving a full speed through first base. With sliding she would have the static friction with the ground, which would slow her down slightly. Also, as soon as she leaves the ground to slide, there's no more propulsion, which slows her down even more.

How can I recover data from a crashed external hard drive?
I have a Western Digital hard drive, and it's been ticking for a couple of days now, and now it won't even show up on My Computer. There is a TON of music on it, is there anyway to recover the data from it? I know ex HDDs are supposed to be for backups, but if they go bad, what's the point! My cousin, and now this, both Western Digitals, went bad. I will never buy a Western Digital product again. How can I recover data from a crashed external hard drive?
Never heard of an external hard drive "crashing"How can I recover data from a crashed external hard drive?
If it is ticking, then the the controller (circuit on the bottom of the drive) has probably gone. A few years ago I had a drive that was ticking, I managed to get hold of a drive of the same make and model. I swapped the controller from the donor drive to the clicking one, and I managed to get all the data off it. This kind of thing would not be a permanent solution to fix the drive but it may buy you the time to recover your data.

What is the best way to transfer data between laptops?
I have an old laptop with 180 gigs of data, games, and things I want to move to my new laptop. What is the best way for moving such large amount of data? I don't want to have to burn DVD's all up and such, so ideas are very welcome. Is it possible to transfer via bluetooth or something? (if the new computer has it...)What is the best way to transfer data between laptops?
You have many options:
- The no-cost option is to have both computers connected to the same router, and use Windows Easy Transfer to assist in the process -%26gt; http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windo鈥?/a>
- The second no-cost option is to enable file sharing on both, and manually copy files via the network. If possible, use an Ethernet connection instead of wireless for this purpose (transfers will go faster). You'll also need both computers connected to the same network.
- Get a USB flash drive, and transfer files - Pros- cheap, Cons - takes time if the flash drive is small.
- Obtain a USB to sata adapter, connect the old drive to the IDE end of the adapter and plug the USB end to your new laptop. Pros - Cheap option (less than $15), quick transfer. cons - Requires opening old computer to remove the drive.
- Purchase an external USB hard drive (larger than 180gb), plug it to the old computer, transfer all the files, plug the drive into the new computer and transfer the files over. - Pros - Quick, easy transfer, serves as backup drive. Cons- Not cost efficient if only used for transferring files.
You need an external enclosure for your hard drive. These can be purchased on ebay or newegg for starting under $10. Make sure to get a 2.5". Also you will need to know if your old hard drive is SATA or IDE. Then all you do is install your old hard drive into this new enclosure and hook it up to your new computer via a usb cable. The computer will then recognize as an external device where you transfer all your files. What is the best way to transfer data between laptops?
A large external hard drive can be purchased from places like Best Buy, Walmart, or online. They would be a great way to do this, and they would be handy for backing up your laptop files in case your laptop broke and you need an important file on it. If your laptops are Mac, I believe you can simply hook an ethernet cord between the two computers and transfer them that way. Windows 7 may have that feature, I'm not sure. I like external hard drives though, so that is what I recommend. The plug into your computers USB ports and act like a separate hard drive. All you have to do is drag your files onto the little icon, and you're good to go!
Best way is You can use external hard disk

maybe other files can be transfered through bluetooth or usb, you still need some professional software to transfer the games, since the games are protected by the manufactures and not so easy, if you find the bluetooth or usb don't work, try this one.

if both laptops have bluetooth then try that
or if both have a sata port then you just hook them up and it shows both the hard drives on both computers.
otherwise just use a flash drive or external drive if the file is big
Connect the 2 laptops to your LAN and do a laptop to laptop transfer. Much quicker than external hard disk transfer. Dont even consider bluetooth as an option. It will take forever.
I think the best alternative would be to use an external hard drive. Especially with 180 GB of data.

Verizon's iPad data plans start at $20 for 1 GB of transfer and go all the way up to $80 for 10 GB. These are month-to-month prices so there is no contract required, and you can turn it on or off as you need it. You may want to post this in Sceince %26amp; Math; drill down to the Statistics category; it's likely that's where statisticians hang out.
Or try a statistics education discussion group.
Step one is always LOOK at the data on a graph: self-reports as a function of other-reports. (Actually, one graph per indicator.) Scatterplots, that is.

What happens to data when you cancel a download on firefox?
I was downloading a kinda big file and decided to cancel it. I'm curious about what happens to the data when you cancel it. If is still somewhere on the pc is there a to delete it? I have enough junk on the pc as it is.What happens to data when you cancel a download on firefox?
Usually when you the user cancels a download, the file that is in the process of being written will not be saved. Whatever was in the cache and not saved to disk will eventually be written over so that it ceases to exist. Whatever was physically written to the hard drive will still be on the hard drive as ones and zeros, but it will not be a file that you can see or need to delete. Eventually another file that you download will be written over the data and it will cease to exist. As data that is written but not recorded as a file, it is possible for the FBI or the CIA to recover information from it, but you as the end user do not have that capability. You would need to start to download the file over again as if from scratch.
Now there are download managers that are designed to resume an interrupted download. They finish writing the file as a temporary file, so that its data will not be written over by new downloads.
When you choose to resume the download, the program appends the new information to the end of the existing download until the whole thing is complete.
Using a program like Bittorrent, you will have the option to allocate space on the disk for the entire file prior to the completion of the download. This allows you to ensure that you will not run out of space before the download is completed. It also allows the file to be written in as contiguous a block as possible rather than being fragmented all across the hard drive. This may not be applicable to file systems other than FAT, aka File Allocation Table. I am only somewhat knowledgeable with this older file system.
Generally, when you start to write a file but do not finish it, it will cease to exist as a file and any space it started to take up will be recycled the next time anything is written to the harddrive. If Firefox saves a user canceled download as a temporary file that you have to manually delete, I would consider that a bug. Even before the internet in the days of Bulletin Board Systems that used dial up modems, there was a download protocol called Zmodem that allowed interrupted downloads to continue where they left off. By interrupted, I mean a temporary outage of connectivity, not a user cancellation.
In windows, when you delete a file, it gets placed in the recycle bin to give you a chance to change your mind and recover it before the space it uses is recycled. Its physical bits on the hard drive do not move, but only the logical location of it moves. However if you never finish writing a file in the first place, it does not go to the recycle bin, but simply does not get recorded to the file allocation table in the first place. Logically it never existed.
Of course some programs may have a default option of saving a canceled download as a temporary file. So to free up space on your hard drive, you will want to tell your browser to delete all temporary files. You will also want to "empty the recycle bin" in windows. What happens to data when you cancel a download on firefox?
it can be continued to be downloaded, but trying to reconnect is hard time, and your downloaded maybe cant be resumed, because of timeout. This is mainly caused that server refuse to continue or it doesnt support resume download. Try more reliable download manager such as idm. It is very reliable and fast, and can use up to 16 connections in a timeWhat happens to data when you cancel a download on firefox?
For example, you downloaded half way, and then you canceled it. Half of that file would still be somewhere in your computer (usually in the download folder), but it is unusable and will take up unnecessary memory space. Do delete if you happen to find it :)
Cheers
it becomes corrupt and unusable.
it should be in the "Downloads" folder.

How do I integrate data without knowing the function?
I have a large sum of data that I need to integrate each cycle. I stated programming the trapezoid method but I'm unsure of the function that the data is taking. How do I integrate data points without knowing the function? If I need to know the function what is the best route for curve fitting the data? I'm using VB.NET (the only language I can use at work). How do I integrate data without knowing the function?
You can still use Trapezoidal rule without necessarily knowing the function.
However, if you are using lots of data points I would suggest using simpson's rule; it makes much closer approximations with fewer terms required.
To integrate with Simpson's rule, it's the same as the trapezoidal rule; you just need a start and end point for the independent variable, as well as points. You can still use f(x) (or output) values you measure even if you don't necessarily know what f(x) in general is.
For example, say you have a bunch of times (t) and heights corresponding to those tides h(t). As long as you have these values, you can still do either trapezoidal or simpsons rule, as both these only ask for exact points.
Hope that helps.

What is the easiest way to split large volume of data in multiple DVD?
I have 80 GB data in many folders and sub folders. No file is bigger than 2 GB. Most of the files are between 500 KB to 900 MB.
I need to distribute them in multiple DVD. Is there any software to help me doing it without zipping it and without changing the folder structure.
Thanks for your time. What is the easiest way to split large volume of data in multiple DVD?
Not sure what you mean exactly by "zipping it." If you mean compressing it, winrar has an option to not compress, just store, for this exact reason. It just copies the data to rar files and doesn't compress it. I'm assuming you don't want to zip it up because of how bloody long it would take for 80 gigs. To do this, right click the folder and "add to archive". Under compression, select "store". This has the benefit of preserving your file system as well.
Edit: don't forget to set the "split archives" to make sure they fit on a dvd! What is the easiest way to split large volume of data in multiple DVD?
Install winrar, (no need to buy because winrar also works after expiring), right click on the folder which is needed to be split (any size) and click add to archive. A dialog box will appear, in the box "split to volumes" write the size of the parts to be made.

How long is data retained on a hard disk drive?
Does the quality of a file degrade over time to a point where the data is irrecoverable or unreadable? What specifications of a HDD reduce this risk? Thanks for the help. How long is data retained on a hard disk drive?
well the thickness of the platter in which the data is stored and the magnetic indentation placed in the platter can also keep a hard drive running longer. but in most cases the motor will burn out before you suffer from data corruption on the platters. so the data will remain on there subject to change if subjected to extreme heat.
so in short no it will not become un readable. now some writes will be corrupted upon the read/write stage but the data itself will not be changed by the hard drive. now specifications for a longer lasting hard drive is one that is enterprise editions and server grade sata drives since they tend to work longer. they have been tested for sustained 24/7 use... also contain better motors. How long is data retained on a hard disk drive?
Your data will ALWAYS be on that hard drive. (That's Right) No matter what. That sound's scary, but it's not. however, no, the quality of the file will not degrade over time. So, No, it will not be unreadable. however, a hard drive can be damaged to make the files unreadable. usually, if you open up the hard drive case, (It's Airtight) It will actually make the hard drive stop working. How long is data retained on a hard disk drive?

What is the best strategy for cleaning some of the data from an Imac?
I have a fairly new Imac that I share with my 3 kids. It is running incredibly slowly because we never get rid of anything. What is the best way to start cleaning some of the unused data off? What is the best strategy for cleaning some of the data from an Imac?
Unless the hard disc is nearly full (unlikely with a fairly new iMac) never getting rid of anything will not be the problem causing the slowness.
What sort of things do you have on it? Movies will take up space (3 - 5 GB each).
Large external discs are relatively cheap and can store copious amounts of stuff leaving space on the Mac's internal hard disc.

What type of data plan do we need for our gaming systems?
So my friends and I are planning on renting a house together. We all play our game systems regularly everyday, if not doing that then we're watching a movie on Netflix or something. I plan on shopping around for Internet prices this week and I need to know what type of data plan we would need for a good steady connect! Lagging online gameplay is the worse! Please help..What type of data plan do we need for our gaming systems?
First, an analogy:
internet service is like the water in a house. You have great water pressure while taking a shower until someone begins doing laundry, then they start the dishwasher, then turn on a hose for the yard sprinkler, then flush a toilet, etc. The more people accessing that water supply the less pressure each access point is going to have. Think of the water pressure as bandwidth--a very loose, not entirely accurate analogy, but it works.
So, if you're going to be using a lot of bandwidth, you're going to need probably the best plan available from your cable company or AT%26amp;T U-verse or whoever. If everyone won't be doing everything at the same time frequently, you might be able to get by with the just-under-the-top-of-the-line plan. If you're taking a shower and no one else is doing anything, the pressure is going to be perfect.
Also, cable ISPs' service is like that for entire neighborhoods. You share their bandwidth with serveral houses in your area. Normally, no one ever notices this, but it is how their systems are setup. AT%26amp;T offers a dedicated, albeit slower, connection plan to each customer.
Lastly, if you are going to setup a wifi network, this is also going to apply to that too. The more things connected without ethernet cables, the more bogged down the wifi portion of the router's network is going to be.
Note: please don't think I work for AT%26amp;T or something. I have cable internet service. The comparable TV %26amp; Internet package from AT%26amp;T that offers what I currently have through my cable company is a whopping $4 less a month. Meh, not worth the hassle of them putting in new phone line in my house into my computer room. Not one that likes having my walls gutted and redone. Now, if they'd be nice and offer their mobile phone customers a substantial discount on their U-verse service, I might switch, but oh well.
I have the 10Mbps plan from my cable company. I can watch Netflix on my TV [via my LG surround system] while playing EVE with both of my accounts [one on each computer] and using TS.
And, yes, lagging out during gameplay is right up there with having a red hot poker stuck in your eye. I completely agree.

What employees within a midsized company usually have access to financial and other critical data?
Should a network/systems/database admin in an IT department have access to financial data in order to secure the data and make sure it is properly backed up? If so to what extent? What are general business standards? What employees within a midsized company usually have access to financial and other critical data?
Absolutely not. They do not need to see data to secure and back it up. You should only have access to that data that is relevant to your job function.
Even accountants only see the data that they need for their job function.

What is market analysis and financial data?
Hi, I'm supposed to do a mock-up business proposal and they asked me to include financial data and market analysis. Can someone please tell me what financial data and market analysis is?What is market analysis and financial data?
E. Marketing Assessment
This section outlines the Business Unit's marketing objectives, recommends preliminary programs and high level strategies for achieving these objectives, and provides a rough estimate for funds that should be dedicated to the marketing effort.
G. Financial Projections and Analysis
This section explains the assumptions behind, and implications from, the supporting financial schedules. The sources for all support data must be identified, such as JHH billing system, HCFA standard tables, etc. If the project requires funding, the planned source of the funding must be identified. Any concerns, open issues, or unanswered questions on funding must be listed here.

Any way to partition an external hard drive without losing data?
I have an external hard drive with loads of data on it that I would like to keep (all in NTFS format). All I want to do is change it so that what I have will remain on the hard drive and remain in NTFS format while the free space on the drive is converted to FAT32 formatting. Is this possible to do? Thanks!Any way to partition an external hard drive without losing data?
http://gparted.sourceforge.net
You'll have to burn it to a CD and boot off of the CD for this. GParted can resize partitions without destroying them. Just boot it up, find your hard drive in the list, and resize the old partition (it won't let you make it too small). Then make a new partition in the remaining space.
The only way I can think of that would work would be to upload the contents of said hard drive to a file hosting site, such as Rapidshare, Megaupload, or others similar to it. Once it is all uploaded, be sure you save the retrieval information, then partition the external drive.
Once that is done, return to the URL where you stored everything and re-download it and save it to the spots on the drive as you wish them to be.Any way to partition an external hard drive without losing data?
It is possible, but always back up your data first. There is a boot CD called Gparted, based on Linux, that lets you re-size and re-partition drives. It should do the job, and it's free. But to be sure, like I said, backup the data first - then boot the CD and run the partition editor. I've used it on an XP disk, with 2 partitions, and it resized and re-partitioned it ok...
Defrag your drive then download GParted burn it and reboot from it select the drive you want to resize it. You may loose some data but if it defraged the drive properly you should be fine.Any way to partition an external hard drive without losing data?
nope. to repartition you have to kill the partitions already on the disc and manually reformat each part of the drive to what formats you want it.
There is no way to format a drive without erasing its existing data.

What is the best graph for this kind of data?
I have some survey data that I would like to graph. The survey was organized in to a series of statements, that participants rated by selecting a number between 1 and 5, depending on how strongly they agreed with that statement. I just want to put this data into excel and create some very simple graphs that will help me explain the survey results better to readers. I understand how to use all of the tools in Excel, however I am a little foggy on what kinds of graph would best help me illustrate this data. Any suggestions? What is the best graph for this kind of data?

How to recover data on Cruzer Flashdrive that is not working?
Hi, I have a 2 gb Cruzer flashdrive (U3) that is not responsive and will not show up when plugged in, light does not turn on either. How can I recover the data? i bought less than a year ago.
what else can i do?How to recover data on Cruzer Flashdrive that is not working?
first off make sure it is not ur computer by trying it on a different computer. if that doesnt work it is possible that there is damage on the usb connector on ur flashdrive. if that is the case u should be able to take the actuall harddrive out and put it in another case. if there is something physically wrong wrong with the memory there is no way to recover ur files.

What is a normal/good price for portable hard drive data recovery?
Got to get data from 3 portable hard drives that stopped working properly and I don't want to get ripped off. All three get power and then blink or beep and the computer doesn't recognize them.
Also if anyone knows of a place in Los Angeles I would really appreciate it.What is a normal/good price for portable hard drive data recovery?
It depends on what is wrong with them. I'd guesstimate from $300-1500 a piece from a professional lab. You can compare prices at ontrack, gillware and drivesavers the top 3 data recovery labs and see who comes out cheapest. Generally it will be Gillware though, they also offer free evaluations and have an online estimating tool.
Before you do that you can pull the drives out of their enclosures and try hooking them up directly to a computer or try them in a new enclosure. What is a normal/good price for portable hard drive data recovery?
Professional Data Recovery service charges a lot of amount for recovering data, If u can afford dat much sum of money u can google for some good data recovery service company around ur neighbourhood. You can also try some Data Recovery Software urself . For recovery software, I bought one before called Kernel for FAT and MTFS, It works well for me every time i need it. Take a look if you do not mind paying to get back your data, U can also download d trial version from http://www.windowsdatarecovery.com
Using trial version u can preview d data recovered but to save it u hav to purchase the softwaremcdonalds monopoly tangled dvd

What would be the correct statistical test for comparing state vs city unemployment data?
I am trying to find out if a specific cities implementation of an increase in the minimum wage has resulted in a statistically significant loss of jobs. I feel this is best compared to the states unemployment data to take into account yearly employment variations. I'm using 6 years worth of census data for both samples. What would be the best test to do this?
Thank you! What would be the correct statistical test for comparing state vs city unemployment data?
General linear models with Analysis of Covariance and stepwise model selections.

What is the fastest and easiest way to transfer data from one laptop to another?
I have a new laptop, and I have a lot of data on my current laptop. How can I easily transfer all my information to the new one (no burning disks, jump drives...etc)
thanks in advanceWhat is the fastest and easiest way to transfer data from one laptop to another?
A USB transfer cable would be the easiest. Something like this
http://www.belkin.com/IWCatProductPage.p鈥?/a>
Make sure you get one compatible with the two Operating Systems you are using (I.E. Vista to Win7)
Put them both on the same network (Fast 10/100Mbps Ethernet) and set up operating-system-level file sharing (e.g. File and Printer Sharing).
Close down most bandwidth-intensive apps (online gaming, file sharing, streaming video/audio, etc.) on both machines.
Copy and paste from the source to the destination. What is the fastest and easiest way to transfer data from one laptop to another?
Well probebly the safest and quickest was would be to take it to a professional computer shop. thats safe and quick.
but if you want to do it yourself just get and external hard drive and copy it all onto there and then onto the new laptop. Fairly easy, safe and straight forward.
hope this helps
You can use a shared drive over the network, if both are on a cable or dsl connection or share a router.
If you're using windows you can right click on a folder and go into properties and sharing.
then you do start%26gt;cmd%26gt;ipconfig and write down your ip addresses, you're looking for a 168. or a 10. one.
Go to other computer, in browser type
file:///%26lt;that ip%26gt;
That's most of it, there are instructions for sharing over a network for the rest of the details. Transfer speed is limited by your network, wired is faster than wifi, but it's pretty fast compared to your alternatives.
just remember to UNSHARE THE FOLDER/DRIVE AFTER YOU ARE DONE, in case someone else gets access to your networkWhat is the fastest and easiest way to transfer data from one laptop to another?
The fastest way is to use a FireWire cable. The easiest (and decent speed) solution is to probably connect wirelessly, and you can drag-and-drop.
Connect the 2 to a switch and use FTP to transfer the fastest...U can also use Teracopy to do the same in the fastest n with options to skip if any errors happen ...

What are the methods to back up the data stored in a computer?
Could you enlighted me about the various means available to back up the data stored in computer so that my data is not lost in case of any mishappening.
Suppose if I have backed up my data a week ago and I have added certain files in a folder, shall I have to back up the entire folder again? Is there a means only to back up the files which were added during the period of one week? What are the methods to back up the data stored in a computer?
If you added, it was not backed-up. If these files are smaller you can email them to you as you finish them by the end of the day, everyday.
You can upload these files on a time period to a site called xdive.com. They allow you to use upto 5 GB of space free.
You can also transfer to the rw-dvds whcih can hold 4.2 or 4.7 GB of space and you can do that every night. With rw dvds you can reuse them so no need to keep adding more dvd for backup.
There are external portable hard drives [200-600 GB] which can allow you to back it up with one touch command thru the USB port. I prefer this for your application because it will only backup the files that were changed or updated.
You may use flash drive with 2-4 gb space and backup the data.
Check with your IT dept if that is an option and they can configure the back-up everyday to another source.
Hope one of these will work for you, my personal preference is large portable HD with a power source and USB connection for you.
there are many ways you can back up your files...but the easiest one i use is a DVD which can holds up to 4.7GB file....What are the methods to back up the data stored in a computer?

What is the best way to collect primary poverty data?
I am writing a thesis on the life course perspective and how it pertains to female poverty, and childhood poverty. I need to collect primary data for my research but I am not sure how to go about that. Any advice would be appreciated. What is the best way to collect primary poverty data?
Good luck with your thesis.
The below link may help to get you started.
~M~What is the best way to collect primary poverty data?
You can't beat living it to know, as otherwise even if told you have no idea. What is the best way to collect primary poverty data?
Visit many homeless shelters and get their stories first hand.
You can not obtain this type of information from any web-site to do a fair and honest job on your thesis especially on this subject.
You have to get out there and get into their world to get even a close glimpse of what it's like to be in poverty. You have to talk to them to find out how they got there.
Did you know there are more women and children living in poverty that the numbers are so scewed it's ridiculous.
Also go to your local Social Services and make an appointment with a Manager in specializes in this.
You can also go to any local Thrift stores and ask for the owner. These people help the homeless all the time and also help out providing food and shelter especially during the holidays.
Good luck, but if you want your thesis to be the best? Get out there on the street with them and talk to them.

What data is collected by the Wii Fit when exercising?
My partner and I are collecting data to determine whether Nitendo's Wii Fit will actually help people lose weight and get in better shape. We are in 9th grade. We are currently deciding what data will have to be recorded in order for this to work efficiently. In order to do this, we need to know what data the Wii Fit automatically records. Does anybody know? What data is collected by the Wii Fit when exercising?
Wii Fit gathers your age, height, weight %26amp; calculates you BMI (Body Mass Indicator). You can also chose to have the system calculate your Wii Fit Age each time before you exercise by doing a few balance tests.
Wii Fit Plus (the latest edition of Wii Fit) will also calculates the number of calories burned per activity that you do on the system. The fitness tests on the Wii Fit Plus include the same balance tests that Wii Fit uses and adds some mind/body tests (for example if a number that appears on the screen is less than 5 shift your balance otherwise stay still).
Fitness is not just about losing weight. People, especially as they age, can lose their ability to balance %26amp; Wii Fit focuses very much on that.
Wii Fit gives a person immediate feedback %26amp; that is one of the reasons why is is a popular fitness gaming system.
Another reason Wii Fit popularity is the Wii Balance Board that comes with it. There are so many fun %26amp; interesting games that use the Wii Balance Board such as skateboarding games, skiing games, fitness, boxing games, etc. To see the complete list of games compatible with the Wii Balance Board check out http://www.musictomyears.com/wiibalanceg鈥?/a>What data is collected by the Wii Fit when exercising?

How does 3G work with mobile phones and wireless data?
By what means is the data transferred to and from your mobile/the internet? Is it secure? Is it dependent on your phone's signal or for it use some other technology? How does 3G work with mobile phones and wireless data?
There are three main data networks available....GPRS, EDGE and 3G. There is also HSDPA which is faster than 3G. Basically, they are all location dependent and each one has improved speed.
Of course, its only compatible devices which would be able to use the networks and the speed is dependent on a number of factors such as congestion. And certain actions such as video calling require you to have 3G.

What is a legitimate work at home business, especially data entry?
I'm looking for a job that I can do on my computer, possibly data entry. No sales. What is a legitimate work at home business, especially data entry?
You probably have to refine your field a little more. If you're looking for pure data entry, you're probably competing with cheap labor overseas like India. Medical billing or tax preparation are related fields, but you probably have to leave the house for medical billing. I do tax prep on the side and I go to people's houses for the data and enter it at home, but I could just as easily have them come to me or mail me their info. I also know bookkeepers who go to their various clients' businesses, but some do it the other way around. My day job is in a law firm and our billing person does everything remotely. She can access the company server from the comfort of her own home and pester us with e-mails while still in her pj's. With all the internet jobs available, you could also very easily do blogging or copy writing for a website company. Depends on your skill set.

There are no online jobs that pay anything close to minimum wage. Most are scams. The ones that are 'legit' rarely pay or it's a laughable amount or it's paid in coupons. Online data entry jobs fades into history sometime in the early 90's.

What is a good design to develop a program that can read data from 3 different servers then broadcast via udp?
I have to develop a program that will connect to three different servers that will be streaming data at certain intervals. I then need to put all that data together and broadcast it out via UDP.
I don't need syntax, I am looking for ideas on how to design this. Please be descriptive. (ie. Number of threads to use and what each is used for)

I think the key here is how to share the memory space between the three pullers and the one broadcaster. The easiest answer to that is with a database. Depending on your data volume needs, you could go with almost anything - Berkley, the free version of DB2, ...
Here's my rough design - I'd need to know your language to go any further.
DB Design
Table Feed: feed id, feed timestamp, feed contents,
Table Broadcast: broadcast id (autonumber), broadcast contents, broadcast start timestamp
Thread 1: Scheduler daemon
Priority: Highest
Responsibilities: Spawn new Feed threads and Broadcast threads at appropriate intervals.
Thread 2: Publisher
Priority: Normal
Responsibilities:
-Query Broadcast table for last start timestamp
-Query Feed table for feed contents since last broadcast
-Assemble broadcast
-Update Broadcast table
-Send UDP
Thread 3...n: Feeder
Priority: Normal
Responsibilities:
-Connect to server
-Rip streaming data
-Commit to Feed table
So my Feeder and Publisher threads are single-use - they exist for one operation. The scheduler makes a fresh one every interval. This way, if a Feed interval comes up before the last one is done, or likewise a Publish, Scheduler can either start a new one to handle it or not, depending on your needs.

Whats the difference between unlimited web browsing and a data plan?
When you looking for a new phone, and you look.... rogers, telus, bell, all the major companies give you an option of unlimited web browsing. I was wondering if anyone knew what the difference between the unlimited web browsing and a data plan is. Is one slower, does one only open html sites.... WHATS THE DIFFERENCE!Whats the difference between unlimited web browsing and a data plan?
Usually there's no difference. If there's any difference, it may concern email access and MMS.Whats the difference between unlimited web browsing and a data plan?
Well for Verizon, Unlimited Web Browsing usually means its tied into business stuff like Enterprise Servers. The data plan is usually just for regular consumers. The more expensive plan is the one that is tied into business stuff. They are the essentially the same when it comes to browsing speed and the types of websites they open.

How do i recover data from hard drive that wont boot up?
I want some stuff off my old PC's hard drive but,
My old PC wont boot up anymore, cant exactly remember what was wrong with it but i know that if i have the hard drive i want the data off plugged into the pc that the pc wouldnt boot up.
Is there anyway of me being able to get that hard drive working again, OR just get the data off it??
Thanks! How do i recover data from hard drive that wont boot up?
Buy an "external USB hard drive enclosure".
Very cheap - widely available - pop your disk in, connect the USB cable to your new PC - converts it into an external disk drive.
Unless the drive is totally shot you should be able to get the data you want off it.How do i recover data from hard drive that wont boot up?
Install the drive into a new PC, set up as Slave. Or buy an external HD case.

What is the difference between a Criminal Record data release via state or the local police station?
If you live in a small town, why would the police make you go to get a finger print verified state check rather than the local police station check? Will the information not be held in the same system. I have no convictions and I am trying to request a local station data release to say there is no info? What is the difference between a Criminal Record data release via state or the local police station?
Probably because your local police are not connected to the AFIS (Automatic Fingerprint Identification System) Computer under management of the FBI. Most, if not all, state police barracks throughout the nation have access to the system.

dicrete data is basically when the data has a limit for example number of peole on a bus doesnt go into decimals and cant be made more acurate but height of a person can always be made more accurate if more digits are used eq 6.6 feet is better than 6 feetvegetarian times surrogate mothers

What is the most reliable way of backing up your computer data/software?
Hard Drives fail periodically... External Hard Drives just as well. Data Sticks are feeble, and easily damage-prone. DVDs (Blu-Ray and the such) are definitely susceptive to scratches, but I heard that (if well taken care of) they can be the most reliable electronic media for data storage.
Scenario: If a solar storm were to hit the Earth with enough force to pretty much damage all electrical circuits and devices on Earth, what hardware would be the most likely to survive? Thanks! What is the most reliable way of backing up your computer data/software?
GMc is correct, but the rule is to back up to 2 destinations (at least), one off-premises. Back up to DVDs and keep them at the office. If your hard drive goes, you have a backup - DVD, tape, external drive, they're all good. If your house burns down you have the backup at the office. If the office burns down you have the backup at home.
If there's a solar storm bad enough to damage your hard drive you won't be worrying about your computer data, you'll be worrying about your genetic data.
Edit:
I use Karen's Replicator for backing up. Open source, free, pretty elegant code. http://www.karenware.com/powertools/ptre鈥?/a>What is the most reliable way of backing up your computer data/software?
Aparently on Monday we will have the worst solar storm in 100 years. How can you worry only about the data if you have no computer to run your data. Aparently a microwave will protect your data. What is the most reliable way of backing up your computer data/software?
As you say cds/dvds can become damaged, but I think they are the more reliable method.
I usually make two copies and store them carefully.
I started doing this after an external hard drive failure.
If a solar storm of that magnitude hit earth, having your data in tact wouldn't do you much good. I use a cheep software product called Allway Sinc (allwaysync.com) to back my data up to an external drive. Yes, external drives fail, but I'm betting that mine won't fail at the same time my PC's hard drive fails.
Allway Sync backs up data periodically (determined by you) in exactly the same structure that it's in on your hard drive. No incremental backups, etc. I have mine set to back up every 5 minutes. It only backs up files that have changed since the last backup. It does it so efficiently that, most of the time, I don't even know it's running.
You can use the software for free unless you back up more than a certain number of files in a month. More than that and you have to purchase the "Pro" version. It costs a whole 20 bucks! Best computer-related 20 bucks I ever spent.
It will also synchronize two or more computers, etc. It has a lot of capability, but I only do the one-way backup. I have two jobs set up. When I'm home it backs up to the external drive. When I'm on the road, it backs up my more critical files to a flash drive. Works great.
Other than being a satisfied user, I have no connection to the Allway Sync product or the company that produces it.

How safe is your data on a cell phone even after a hard reset?
Is it technically possible to recover deleted sms messages even after a hard reset on a cell phone?
As far as computers are concerned, yes it is possible to recover data even after a format with recovery software but I am not sure about the mobile phones and how they store data and what possibilities there are...
The reason I am asking this is not recover deleted messages so please do not give any software titles. I am just curious because people are sell or donate their phones but are their private messages, contacts, etc. safe even after a hard reset?
Thank you.How safe is your data on a cell phone even after a hard reset?
No not really. If you havent backed up your data there isnt really a way to retrieve it. Especially the phones that are being donated which are old flips phones and prepaid cell phones which dnt have many backup features anyways :))

How do I backup data over a Crossover Cable Network in Vista?
Basically, I have a crossover cable, a computer running Vista, and a laptop running Vista. What I need to be able to do is network the two computers together, using a crossover network, and transfer all of the data accross to the computer for backing up, so I can format the laptop, then do the reverse and put the data back on the laptop.

How can I import data from one sheet to another of same workbook automatically?
Plz explain in simple way. I tried it from import data option of TOOL BAR But it is too much confusing. For example if I want to copy data from column D of sheet 1 to column D of sheet 2. What steps should i follow to do it?How can I import data from one sheet to another of same workbook automatically?
Open the work book
Right click on the sheet that you want to copy
Then click "Move or Copy"
In the pop up window that comes
To Book: select the work that you want the sheet to be copied (as you to copy it to the same work book select the same one)
Check the "Create a copy" box
Then Click ok
This will create a new work sheet with the content of the original one.
Though the steps here look long actually there are simple and straight when you try them
Hope this helps :-)How can I import data from one sheet to another of same workbook automatically?
Hi
U should first select/shade the columns to be copied
by holding the right mouse button
Then hold the left mouse button and "copy"
Next go to next sheet and again select the exact number of blank columns or cells(as in the previous sheet) and then left click and paste.
Example: in first sheet there are 10 cells in column D to be copied, then U should select 10 cells in column D in the next sheet also.
U are done!!

What is the best method for organizing financial data?
I'm looking for a good way to organize and keep up to date a list of bank accounts, etc, in case something ever happened to me and my wife (who doesn't do a lot of the finances) would know how to handle things.
Does anyone have any ideas (other than a piece of paper and pen) on the best way to SAFELY keep that data all in one place? What is the best method for organizing financial data?
I suggest you include your wife on this discussion. If she's computer savvy, then using something like Quicken or Microsoft Money could be helpful. Just make sure that you back up your data frequently, and always keep a fresh backup outside your home (like in your shared lockbox or online, where your wife knows how to access it) in case something happens to your computer or home.
If your wife isn't into computers, then try a notebook or expandable file, that would include a list of account numbers and contact information, plus things like copies of your insurance policies, will, etc. What is the best method for organizing financial data?
Buy QUICKEN 2007. Just get the "basic" program. Cheap and it'll do what you want until you wish to become more sophisticated in your personal financial control. Then, you purchase the newest edition of Quicken and away you go! Very easy to use. What is the best method for organizing financial data?
Quicken, Quickbooks, or Microsoft Money are all good choices.
**Also, as the person below stated, using Excel is an excellent choice. You can obtain free budget/finance template from Microsoft Office Online too!
If you want a cheap and easy to use program then yes I'll agree with the above answer of quicken. However, if you are better than average with Microsoft excel (or another spreadsheet of your choice) I would suggest using it to create your own budgets, income statements and other financial statements. Most people already have some sort of spreadsheet with their computer so it's likely you wouldn't have to purchase anything, plus you get the chance to setup/design it yourself so it should be easy for you to use, get you the information you need and easy to understand.

What is the difference between a smart phone data storage plan and a web browsing plan?
I'm considering getting a smart phone of some kind (possibly an iphone) and there are various plans that I've looked at. One of the plans offers unlimited data storage and one offers unlimited mobile web service.
What are the difference between the two things, and what exactly does each include? (eg. web but no downloads, email ect..)

It depends on how long you want to store it, and how secure you need it to be. Sessions and cookies can be used to store data temporarily. A database would be needed for more permanent storage.

What is the best way to receive reporting data from a POS system?
If a database were to be designed to electronically receive data reports from a POS system which format or method is best? What is the best way to receive reporting data from a POS system?
What is the data that you are storing? In other words, you have to define what each record will contain. It all depends on what data you get from the POS system.
As an over simplified example, Big Box Store sold a 42 inch plasma TV, a Bicycle, and a Car battery. Cost was $800, $200, and $50 respectively. You now have 2 fields, Item description and a price. You might want to add other fields such as model or part number, manufacturer, and more. How big are your fields. Some fields may need to be fairly long while the manufacturer could be reduced to a code of only a few letters.
There is no best method or format. There is what is required depending on the data that you want to save.
How you access the data once it is saved brings up another problem. Do you set it up so all records are a fixed size for easier random access operations or do you use a random length record and either use a record pointer system or only access the data sequentially? This time the design parameters may be dependent on the storage media. How you access the data after it is stored will also influence how you store the data in the first place.
What is best will be what best fits the problems that you have.

How do you retrieve data from a nokia n96 phone whose motherboard is broken?
A couple of weeks ago the battery of my phone died. I charged it but it would not turn on, so i went to the service centre and they said that the motherboard is fried. i don't care about the phone but the things stored in the phone is valuable to me. What is the definition of aggregate user data?
I've been trying to understand some of these online privacy agreements. Most of seem to be on the up and up, except for one term that scares me, "aggregate user data". It sounds like something a politician would say. Extremely vague. In the case of online friends websites, the amount of information entrusted to them increases the scope of "aggregate user data". I did a search and found it to be a very standard term used in most privacy agreements. Much of the time I've found assertions that "we do not link aggregate user data to personally identifiable information." The freinds website does not make that claim. What does it all mean? What is the definition of aggregate user data?
Those are elements assembled into a logical format to facilitate comparisons OR to elicit evidence of patterns. Those elements by themselves cannot identify no one in particular but when you link them to others it is possible to identify some people based on their profile. In example you link certain people with certain phrases or way of speaking or writing. Those are element you can put together to find who is the writer or the speaker.

What experimental data justifies psychologists to postulate that there is such thing as"general intelligence"?
All individuals are better in some things than in others.
What experimental data justifies psychologists to postulate that there is such thing as "general intelligence"?What experimental data justifies psychologists to postulate that there is such thing as"general intelligence"?
I don't know whether it's experimental data that led to this conclusion so much as found data, so to speak.
People tend to display a certain level of consistency in academicky-type things. So that, say, standard IQ scores tend to correlate well with performance in school.
But the notion that there's ONE form of "general" intelligence is being increasingly challenged. It's more and more clear that there are various forms of intelligence, and that far from having "general" intelligence, we have modules that process this or that particular kind of intellectual task.
So your questioning this notion is now what psychologists in general are doing.

Why is data the most important asset an organization possesses? What other assets in
the organization require protection? Why is data the most important asset an organization possesses?
That's not necessarily true. Ask a carpentry shop, or a garage what's important, and it will be "Tools".
A real estate or insurance brokerage would agree that their customer lists and other data re the most important.
All organizations have physical assets, including personnel that need protection from fire, theft and other hazards.

What extra data is stored on a camera phone photo?
I posted a picture taken on my phone on an online image-board and shortly after wards i started recieving prank calls relating to the image. Does a photo from a phone store any data relating to the phone number, etc?
They knew my name aswell which was kinda freaky.
ThanksWhat extra data is stored on a camera phone photo?
Nope, pictures have no such data. That's probably because you posted yoru phone number or name on the account where the pictures were.
Camera phones only store date and time of picture taken. Some newer ones have even more data such as megapixels, zoom, flash, focus, exposure time, geodata, ISO, meter mode, dpi, focal length.....
Well you get the idea :)
But that's only the high end/expensive cellular phones(SonyEricsson and Nokia) who do such things.

What are the legal ramifications of storing customer's hard drive data?
I plan to open a small business doing computer repair work and I'd like to store the data on my customers computers before any service is performed just to prevent myself from losing any of my clients important files.
Does anyone know what trouble I risk getting into by storing this data for a maximum of 30 days after service is finished?
Thanks in advance, I really appreciate it!What are the legal ramifications of storing customer's hard drive data?
I don't know for sure, but you should just notify your customers and have them sign a waiver if you are worried. What are the legal ramifications of storing customer's hard drive data?
always remember its never illegal, till your caught What are the legal ramifications of storing customer's hard drive data?
Remember, you can get sued for just about anything today, so I'd really think about that before doing such a thing without informing them and then having them sign consent to do so.
This is an important question, one you should ask an attorney that specializes in the area.
Without clear consent that a a court would accept, you risk running afoul of DMCA (see wikipedia) and similar laws.
Not only that, but you run the risk of having copies of illegal material, including but not limited to child porn, copyrighted files, and material subject to non-disclosure agreements.
You may also have certain legal obligations to report if you find that kind of material, esp. child porn. My local repair shop has a sign in their window to that effect.
Finally, before copying and taking these risks, be sure your business is properly incorporated so your personal liability is limited. Your attorney can advise and assist you on that - don't try to do that yourself with such risks, if you get it wrong, you go to jail.myrtle vacation rentals

What is the best way to store computer data?
I want to ensure I safely store things from my computer hard drive somewhere else as well. I did have an external hard drive (seagate freeagent) which crashed and deleted data so that unit makes me not want to buy another. CDs or DVDs can wear out. Best, cheap solution would be great! What is the best way to store computer data?
Burnable CDs have a theoretical life of between 50 and 100 years. DVDs have a theoretical life of between 10 and 25 years. I don't think anyone's done a life estimate on flash drives or memory cards.
But redundancy is the key. ALL hard drives will eventually fail. If you have the data on 2 external drives, the odds of being hit by lightning on a clear day in the desert are probably greater than the odds of both drives failing at the same time. When the first one fails you replace it and back up the data from the second one to the replacement. (That's the idea behind RAID 1 or RAID 5 - if a drive fails, you replace it with no loss of data.) If you use redundant drives, AND optical backup (that you check every 6-12 months), you're probably safe forever.
I just use a flash card and 2 hard drives - and a good backup program.
Your CD/DVD will stll be in a closet 100 years from now with all the data on it as long as you are careful with them, keep them protected and out of the sun light. Don't use cheap CDs or DVDs for important Data. Put it on a Thumb/flash drive and then set it 's attributes to read only and store it in a safe place and use it only when you need to. Dedicate an external hard drive only for data you want to keep and keep the junk off of it.What is the best way to store computer data?
DVD disc are the best way, no need to worry about them waring out, as you'll probably not be around by the time that happens.
you should try a slightly more expensive dvd, or if you can find them 'archival' dvd-r's which have a much longer time befor deterioration.
the only problem is getting your data off. i burnt some data, took a few minutes to burn, 4 hours to take data off of a full dvd-r!
there are also other methods, like saving to a online storage site, emailing files to yourself (which might take you for ever) Tape drives, Zip drives.
i profer putting them onto a hard drive, not only are they accessable quick, but dont scratch, or get lost, or take an age to search for.
REDUNDANCY is the key.
Even though you stored your stuff on an external HDD, you put too many eggs in one basket.
Had you backed up to several external storage devices, and placed them in different locations on Earth, you would have a much smaller chance of losing stuff and a much greater chance at recovery.

How do I transfer all my laptop data to my desktop?
I like to give my Dell Latitude laptop to my nephew.
What is the best way to transfer all the data from the laptop into my desktop?
I'm planning to format the hard drive and re-install Windows XP from my installation disk.
I have both Norton Ghost and Acronis True Image if that will help in the transfer.
Thanks. How do I transfer all my laptop data to my desktop?
I would buy an external drive that is the same size as the one in the desktop. Move all your files and folders into it. Then copy, not move, them to the desktop. Keep the external as a back up. Just remember to back up regularly from then on. Hope this helps. Good Luck.
Use a USB maybe... :)How do I transfer all my laptop data to my desktop?
Easiest way would be to have both machines on the network and copy all your files to your desktop using a file share.
LOL i just got rid of my latitude :) i'de say use a USB flash drive is your best bet :3 sence my old laptop couldn't burn CDs :P you can get a smaller flashdrive and just keep going back and forth if your worried about price lolHow do I transfer all my laptop data to my desktop?
you need an external usb hard drive to copy all the important files that you will need. or maybe try to undock your laptops hdd and place it on your desktop(dock as E: D: or F: Drive on desktop)
using norton ghost is quite a problem because their are times that it fails(experienced it already!).

What data plan will be added to my service?
I recently purchased a Blackberry Storm. It was originally on Verizon but is unlocked and I want to use it an ATT. I know ATT adds a data plan automatically when it detects you have a smartphone. I was wondering what plan they add, the 200mb or 2gb plan? It used to be unlimited but I am now unsure because of the new tiered system they have. Thank you. What data plan will be added to my service?
