What statistical test is proper when validating two sets of perceptional data?

The two sets of data are : (1) from self-rate made by school administrators on their leadership styles; and, (2) rating made by administrators' subordinates on their superiors' leadership styles. Both groups use the same indicators. How do I test whether administrators' self-rating is validated by subordinates' rating? What statistical test is proper when validating two sets of perceptional data?

You may want to post this in Sceince %26amp; Math; drill down to the Statistics category; it's likely that's where statisticians hang out.

Or try a statistics education discussion group.

Step one is always LOOK at the data on a graph: self-reports as a function of other-reports. (Actually, one graph per indicator.) Scatterplots, that is.

"edu-stat" I think is the name of a newsgroup I used to frequenst where you might get expert advice.
