What I would like to do is to develop an application software for private investors. The software will use both Yahoo finance data and data from other sources to propose investment options. The user will not be allowed to access the data outside the software itself. First, is it allowed by Yahoo? Second, what process to follow to get Yahoo's official permission.What is the process to get the permission from Yahoo! to use yahoo financial data in a personal software?
You would have to email yahoo help and start climbing the ladder. Unless yahoo is somehow compensated I doubt that they will allow you to use their data. I would suggest looking at Google Finance if Yahoo turns you down ...
