What is the best way to collect primary poverty data?

I am writing a thesis on the life course perspective and how it pertains to female poverty, and childhood poverty. I need to collect primary data for my research but I am not sure how to go about that. Any advice would be appreciated. What is the best way to collect primary poverty data?

You can't beat living it to know, as otherwise even if told you have no idea. What is the best way to collect primary poverty data?
Visit many homeless shelters and get their stories first hand.

You can not obtain this type of information from any web-site to do a fair and honest job on your thesis especially on this subject.

You have to get out there and get into their world to get even a close glimpse of what it's like to be in poverty. You have to talk to them to find out how they got there.

Did you know there are more women and children living in poverty that the numbers are so scewed it's ridiculous.

Also go to your local Social Services and make an appointment with a Manager in specializes in this.

You can also go to any local Thrift stores and ask for the owner. These people help the homeless all the time and also help out providing food and shelter especially during the holidays.

Good luck, but if you want your thesis to be the best? Get out there on the street with them and talk to them.
