What are the differences between a data center and a database ?

I am reading some materials about services of IBM but I'm not quite familiar with these stuffs. So can anyone explain for me what the differences between those two ? I understand that database is where people store organized-information, so how about data center ?What are the differences between a data center and a database ?
A database is a collection of records.



A data center is physical location where data is handled or housed.



For example, When you do a google search, the computer accesses a database to obtain and return your result. The location where the Google data base computers are located is a Data Center.What are the differences between a data center and a database ?
A Data Center is a physical location, usually a floor or a building, where telecommunication equipments (like switches, routers and fiber optics links) and computer hardware like servers are hosted. Terremark (www.terremark.com) is an example provider of Data Center Services.



A Database is a collection of records. Inside a Database (DB) data are stored in Tables each one containing similar information. For example a Company X DB could consist of Customers Table and Orders Table.

Finally, a DB is a piece of software running in a server hosted in a Data Center.
